This season seems to be full of lovely pastels and creams. The country style is still very much in demand, but softened down with an air of sophistication, rather than as rustic as it was in the spring season. Soft organza ribbons are replacing raffia, and jam jars are still very much on trend for centrepiece flowers. Some bold red flowers are also starting to be in demand, with blacks and silvers starting to make an appearance as the table dressings at some reception venues, Chair sashes seem to be more organzas than satins this season, reflected through in the way we are finishing our table flowers, so that the centrepieces form a whole with the table stylings. Roses and lisianthus are still extremely popular, more so than last season, with less demand for gumnuts and berries as finishes to bouquets.
I would love to hear your plans for your forthcoming weddings, and what trends you see for this coming spring season in September - November here on the Gold Coast - flowers and colours!
Bye for now, Best wishes, Glynda Hall, The Lilac Tree
